I am an Underwater and Drone Videographer and Photographer. I use imagery as a spark to ignite the soul to connect with our natural environments. My goal is to help create a sense of wonder for our oceans and wilderness. I want to foster a connection so strong that it leaves you driven to be outdoors and to protect our beautiful world.
My passion for being underwater is matched by my love for viewing coastlines and marine life from above. This led me to pursue drone photography, for which I am an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot.

Great White Sharks Swim Close to Surfers

Around half a dozen Juvenile Great White Sharks were seen swimming in the surf lineup. At times they would come incredibly close to the surfers. A great reminder that sharks and humans co-exist peacefully the majority of the time. There was one surfer that pointed a shark out, but other than that I couldn't tell if the surfers knew about the sharks or not. Filmed off Del Mar, California

Great White Shark in Surf Lineup

A juvenile Great White Shark cruises through the surf lineup in Del Mar, California. The shark stayed away from the surfers as you can see by its movements. It's not clear if the surfers knew the shark was there or not. The water was pretty murky that day.

On a recent whale watching trip with @dolphindronedom on his Gone Whale Watching boat, we saw a large Mola Mola swimming off the coast of San Clemente Island. The island is about a 2-hour boat ride off the coast of San Diego.

I live by a lagoon that blows our every summer her in Mexico, trash everywhere! a passion for years now is cleaning these beaches, one person can clean miles, divest from Coke and Pepsi!

Who drinks soda anyway? It tastes like some terrible chemical brew. Soda sucks in every way! Jeez drink some fruit juices, they taste way better anyway!
Then every fish will have cover to hide in by 2050 which will help them not get eaten which will then starve the predators which will cause overpopulation of the prey which will cause the food source to be depleted and then no fish lol
Sadly most of the plastics in the ocean will become microplastics that then become a part of the food chain :(

They were confused as to who to eat.
They are not confused :) GW Sharks this size usually go after things like small fish and sting rays.
Relative to the surfers these White Sharks are not large; putting it another way they have not yet changed from a fish to a mammalian diet.
Yes, these are juvenile great whites and live off of animals like sting rays, it's not until they are larger that they go after seals and sea lions. However their mammalian diet does not include humans :)

That poor lonely whale looks like it is in distress and is going to get stuck on that beach in a minute or two...
Yes, it can look quite alarmaing! Though, this behavior is normal for gray whales. They will come into shallow waters to scratch parasites off its body. This gray whale did not beach and continued on its migration.

@@alicewonderglass679 Females can grow as large as 50 feet long! On average adults are around 40 feet. When calves are first born they are 'small' at around 13-15 feet. Being on the surface of the water makes it really hard to see anything below it. unless you are elevated.

I liked the meeting of the 2 sharks head-on. They both veered to their right which worked well. Wonder if they have a system?
Sharks definitely have complex social systems, though I am not sure if one of the rules is 'always veer to the right', but maybe!
No. One of the sharks ..forst one was pro active...changed direction first..chose to be right..and second shark after one second when he realized where forst turned was reactive ..and reacted by turning to oposite direction. Rules are simple avoid other sharks especialy if They are bigger ..They have biega jawna and teeth.

I would love to see you come and fly your drone out in Santa Cruz. I want to do it myself but unfortunately I do not know how to pilot a drone properly and do not want to spend a huge amount of money on a drone only to loose it over the ocean. I have spent hundreds buying drones a few different times for my son and each I couldn’t control them. Once time it was headed for town and I couldn’t get control so I had to drop it to stop it and it broke sadly. I need help badly. Anyways, if you get the chance I would love to see the waters in Santa Cruz.
Drones can be a challenge for some people and that's totally OK! I find that practicing in low pressure situations helps tremendously with gaining confidence :)

@@headedanywhere yep! The worst thing though, is when people on private aircraft’s come and disturb the sharks. Last week, there was a private helicopter in the air, that started spinning around on top of sharks at an attitude of 30 feet when 400 is the limit. Keep up the good work!
